Born Joseph Cantu,October 7,1981 to the parents of Helen Rebeccca Cantu and Natividad Cantu,JR
at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. Joseph moved to Lake Worth at the age of 8,
and attended schools such as North Grade Elemntary School, Lake Worth Middle School, and Lake Worth High School.
He started rapping and witing when he has 12.His influences varie from N.W.A, Ice Cube, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and
is favorite rap group of all time, Bone Thugs N Harmony. Although, he likes all kinds of music, from Country,
Rock N Roll, R & B, Even Spanish music, being that he is half Mexican. But what made him really want to pursue
rapping is when he got his first Karaoke for Christmas. It was a double cassete/CD player. So he was able to record himself
and put it on tape. When he would play his music he recorded to friends and family they were very suprised and
impressed. considering the fact that his family had no kind of musical back round. In 2000 he started going to the studio
(OnBeat) and recording mixtapes. Around that time he met Elias Gaiton AKA "Chivo". Chivo is founder and CEO of
Fat Roach Records. Together they were a powerful duo, doin skits and playing on radio stations, 99 Jams and Power 96.5.
They also recorded two music videos,"My Chevrolet" and "Close Shop". Instant hits on YouTube. Unfortunatley between
the years of 2005-2008, Joseph had some run ins with the law. Which led to his incarceration with several trips
to the county jail, and his last bid in 2008 which he served in a state Penitentuary. Joseph feltas if he fell
behind, or off track more or less."when I was locked up, its like I lost all my motivation to write. You would
think that it would be the best time to write, but it wasnt like that, I had alot of other stuff on my mind, like
my wife, daughter, and my family. I guess I was just overwhelmed, but mostly anxious to go home". In 2009 of
his release he went to live with one of his childhood friends from school. Pedro Lopez AKA "Pac Man the Poet".
Pac Man was in the process of building his own record label. Successfully doing so, Joseph joined him and became
an artist for 3rd Block Records.Together they recorded a mix tape with bangers like "Im a Hustler" "End of the
Road" and "I love dis Game" featuring Chico Slim a local rap artist from Ft.Pierce. With a couple shows, four
mixtapes, and one in the process under his belt, JRock feels he is ready to take it to the next level.
"Ive never been more confident in myself like I am today. I feel I can be the next big name in the game if I
keep pushing for it. Anything is possible. The key is to stay focused and motivated, and never forget where
you came from and where you are trying to go. Im ready for whatever."Sent from Windows Mail
